Half-truth or Half-lie ?

In one of my conference presentations, I deliberated on some success and failure stories in Social Media campaigns. Later I was suggested by other respected faculty members to analyse what makes a campaign a success or a failure. Can we measure the right proportion of ingredients to make a successful social media campaign? That sounded interesting to the point of finding the recipe of elixir. Had that been known, perhaps every company would put in the right ingredients and make a block-buster of their recipe!

(Un)social Media

Last week a news on The Times of India caught my attention. A 25-year old woman committed suicide after changing her profile  picture to an illustrated "I hate my life". Incidentally, her mother was among the few friends who liked the post! As I typed "Suicide Video", Google was efficient enough to fill it up with "...on YouTube" and the first page was populated with a couple of videos.
Our day begins with social media and ends with one! And as we get more accustomed to using these media, I should better modify this phase with "our lives begin with a photo on Facebook and ends with a post in it"!

Love Is in Social Media: Make It Or Break It!

Love is in Social Media
Love is in Social Media
Oh, I am growing old. After some heart-warming feedback that I received on my first blog post, I have been thinking about the topic of my next post for the last two days and most of the time, my keyboard started typing stories of more than two decades old!
Last week people around the world celebrated Valentine's Day, with millions of couple probably exchanging roses, chocolates and  what-not, while the cash counters of companies have definitely been ringing sweet bells in the ears of their owners. Exactly ten days before that many Indians celebrated Basant Panchami, the day to worship Maa Saraswati- the Goddess of Knowledge. I may have doubt as to how much we love Maa Saraswati, but I have no doubt that Bengalis love her Puja day. Why?

Beginning of an Exploration

Does love actually happen at first sight? I’ve perhaps fallen in love many times, and  risen in love a few times too! But still I can’t definitely say that I ever fell in love at the first sight. What happens at the first sight may be merely termed as some kind of attraction; but to term it “love” may be an over-estimation.
